LOCATION : BLACK ROCK, VICTORIA
STATUS : BUILDING PERMIT
The Black House is an exercise in restraint.
Located 500m from the pristine beach of Half Moon Bay, the clients and owners of this new home presented a brief for a beach house - without the typical tropes of a beach house.
In order to achieve an architectural and functional robustness desired from the owners, colour and material palettes are carefully selected to omit frivolity.
Blacks and whites are used as contrasting visuals.
Metal and masonry are employed for their hardiness and longevity.
Concrete and timber are strategically applied to highlight their natural tones.
